Meenakshi Ramesh brings over two decades of social sector leadership to her role as CEO Designate of Pratham, marking a meaningful return to the organization where she began her journey in development work. She first joined Pratham Mumbai as a volunteer in 2001, working closely with the founders during the organization's formative years until 2009.
Since then, Meenakshi has built a distinguished career driving social impact across multiple sectors. Most recently, she served as Chief Executive Officer of United Way Chennai, where she directed corporate funds toward education, healthcare, and livelihood initiatives. Her work has spanned organizing large-scale civic engagement initiatives, and establishing civic knowledge platforms to empower urban citizens.
Meenakshi is an alumna of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). She also served on the boards of multiple NGOs working in education and health, where she provided strategic guidance and supported organizations committed to creating sustainable change.
